Tories told to take lead from Bush

I thought this was just funny, of all the political role models to follow a group of Tories want's to emulate George W. Bush with a creed of tradition, nation, family, religious ethics and free enterprise. I'm sure they can count on the support of that hideous organ of moral hypocracy that is "The Daily Mail" to be right behind them.

It won't work, in America 40% of people go to church on a sunday, here in Britain, more Muslims go to mosques than Christians go to church. Religon is not going to be a winner, not at all.

As for the rest of it, "family" will undoubtedly mean benefit cut's for single mothers, continuing a cycle of poverty. I know full well that single mother's have a hard enough time even under a Labour government that has done a lot to reverse the abysmal situation under the previous Tory government. "Free enterprise" will mean cut backs on all those horrible restrictions to business such as the minimum wage, forcing the poor overstreched entepreneur to pay workers something that will just about allow them to get by without starving.

Of course the whole thing reminds me of John Major's "Back to basics" campaign. John major called for a return to proper moral values among his party. The whole thing collapsed in a series of sleaze scandals. John Major was lucky enough to keep his own extra marital affair a secret throughout the whole thing.

Anyway, what I'm saying is, there are ways to revive the Tory party. This is not one of them.
